Wanbli Wiconi Tipi has zero tolerance for any incidents of sexual abuse and sexual harassment against juveniles in our custody and retaliation against juveniles, staff, contractors, or volunteers for reporting or cooperating in investigations related to sexual abuse or sexual harassment. WWT shall hold individuals committing sexual abuse or sexual harassment accountable, issuing appropriate discipline and sanctions up to and including termination, and when appropriate pursuing criminal charges.
WWT used the funds on development of the following:
v Policies and procedures
v Staff training, including how to work effectively with LGBTI (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex) residents
v Resident education modules
v Visitor notifications
v Formal engagement with White Buffalo Calf Women's Society to provide support services to residents who have experienced sexual abuse at any time in their lives
WWT shall accept reports of any knowledge, suspicion, or information regarding the sexual abuse of sexual harassment from a juvenile's family member, guardian, loved one or any member of the public. All reports will be taken seriously and investigated. WWT will make sure the juvenile gets the support services they need including medical and counseling services.
